An ode to the small joys in life :)
Check out the pretty fascinating origin story of sabich over here.
I love sabich
Eggplant in pita, tahini
It's fun and a bit funny
To devour together
I remember when I ate it
For the first time
She asked me what to spread
What to put in the pita
And I was just another confused kid who hadn't eaten a lot of eggplants
I said put whatever you want
Just not for it to be disgusting
She served me the pita and I was all excited
Not sure what to do, my heart was weak
She said to me Oh my God I'm already very hungry
So I took a bite of the sabich
Since then I was a new person
Wow (!) so many flavors
Suddenly I feel so close to God
Food comes and goes it changes all the time
But I keep this meal close to my heart
I looked deep into her eyes
She gave a small smile and bit her lip
Was everything okay? Was it tasty?
In a hoarse voice I answered that my life had changed
I love sabich
Eggplant in pita, tahini
It's fun and a bit funny
To devour together
I don't want anything else anymore
I don't want anything but sabich
(Did you try pizza? Maybe falafel?
And what about scnitzel? You should have chraime or gefilta
Come to McDonald's we'll get shawarma)
Bro, let go
Just give me eggplant in pita
I love sabich
Eggplant in pita, tahini
It's fun and a bit funny
To devour together
